LUKOIL plans to increase the investment in Macedonia.

As the government press service informed, the Prime Minister Gruevski at the meeting stressed that the Government of the Republic of Macedonia is prepared to give full support to the implementation of the Russian company’s plans. Moreover, the Prime Minister emphasized that the LUKOIL’s entry on the Macedonian market has improved the competitiveness and has promoted the processes in favor of the consumers and the citizens.

The interlocutors expressed satisfaction with the so far cooperation and with the commitment of both sides in the continuation of the ongoing processes that are of interest both for the Republic of Macedonia and for the Russian oil company.

The Prime Minister, during the visit of the Russian Federation, today in St. Petersburg met also the Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The governmental statement said that the meeting is regarded as a new signal and direction for the political, but also for the economic relations between both countries in the coming years. It is yet another proof that the Republic of Macedonia in Russia is received at the highest level and that it has extraordinarily open door for the development of the political, but above all of the economic relations.

The Prime Minister attended the opening of the prestigious and renowned International Economic Forum in St. Petersburg, and the joint lunch with the heads of states and governments organized by the Russian President Putin. In this prestigious forum traditionally participate renowned economic experts, analysts, businessmen and politicians.

The government delegation led by the Prime Minister Gruevski will attend and address at the business forum for presentation of the investment opportunities and benefits that are offered by the Republic of Macedonia to foreign investors. During his stay in St. Petersburg, the Prime Minister Gruevski will open the honorary consulate of the Republic of Macedonia in the Russian Federation.

The last days the government team had visited several Russian cities where were held business forums for the presentation of the Macedonian investment incentives, and within the visit of the Russian Federation, Gruevski met with the governors of several districts.

The Macedonian delegation began the visit of the Russian Federation in Moscow, where the investment opportunities in Macedonia were presented to about a hundred Russian investors, and it was signed a cooperation agreement between Macedonia and the Moscow district.
